Rugby League: Queensland Rugby League has released details of the annual Queensland Residents versus New South Wales Residents match, to be held at Coorparoo's Suzuki Stadium on Sunday, May 7.

The clash between the best of QLD's Intrust Super Cup and NSW's Intrust Super Premiership headlines a day of action that also includes the Under-18 Mal Meninga Cup and FOGs Under-20 Cup state finals.

The Central Crows - with a handful of South Burnett products in its ranks - are already out of the running for the Mal Meninga Cup final after struggling to hit the scoreboard this season. But the Toowoomba-based Western Mustangs are in with a shot of making the final of both competitions, sitting first and fourth in the 18s and 20s respectively.

The winner of the Mal Meninga Cup final will go on to contest the National final against their NSW counterparts in Sydney, with details yet to be confirmed.

In their first year under the Mustangs moniker, president Paul Reedy told the Toowoomba Chronicle's Anton Rose there is "no end” to what they can achieve.

"If they play the same way that they have over the last few weeks they will be hard to beat,” Reedy said.

"Our first goal was to make the finals and we've done that.”
