LEARNING to dance hip hop can be difficult and sometimes exhausting.

But young students like Chloe Kind are more than eager to step up to the challenge.

The nine-year-old is among a group of B-boys and fly-girls who attend after school hip hop classes each week at the Inala Police Citizens Youth Club.

The high-energy style of dance is seen performed in music videos by artists such as Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Usher.

And since lessons began last July, more and more youths are signing up to learn how to dance like their favourite RnB stars.

Chloe, who has taken part in the class since it began, said getting together with other kids and learning hip hop was a lot of fun.

"Some of the choreography can be challenging, but we learn the dance moves over and over again and it's fun to practise," Chloe said.

PCYC dance instructor Jasmin Ford said due to overwhelming enthusiasm, a kids hip hop dance group had been formed.

Now, Inala PCYC has announced an expansion of the hip hop classes.

The organisation this year launched several new classes specific for kids, teens and adults.

All styles and levels of dancers from beginners to experienced are encouraged to join.

All classes are held at Inala PCYC at 37 Swallow St, Inala.
