Her Excellency, Ms Penelope Wensley AC, Governor of Queensland will officially open RSPCA Qld's new Animal Care Campus at Wacol this Sunday.

The day will provide the public with a rare opportunity to go 'behind the scenes' at the facility which is already being hailed as being the most advanced in the Southern hemisphere.

Apart from information stalls and activities, special tours will be conducted so that visitors can view the new Veterinary Surgery and the Wildlife Hospital.

"We're really keen that everyone gets the opportunity to see what goes on "backstage," RSPCA Qld CEO Mark Townend said .

"A lot of hard work and dedication is required to get animals ready for the adoption pens or, in the case of wildlife, ready for release back into the wild.

"This is a great chance for the public to meet our staff and volunteers and see how we use donors' money to help all creatures, great and small."

Apart from touring the facilities and meeting the animals and the staff there will also be entertainmen with International recording artist - and long time supporte of animal welfare -Diesel performing.

The day will also include children's rides and activities and food and drink stalls.

The RSPCA Animal Care Campus open day will take place at the campus from 9am to 2pm
