Bob Pearce is a lover of fine cars and motorbikes.
A PASSION for motor vehicles runs in Bob Pearce's blood.
"I grew up in a mechanical family," the self-confessed car-lover said.
"In those days you had to repair everything yourself, and I got a real love for mechanics and everything automotive."
Now the owner of four motorbikes and a 1958 Star Model Custom Line Ford, Mr Pearce said buying his car was a dream come true.
"I'll never forget, I was living in Perth and there were a mob of us that used to go to the speedway," he said.
"One of my mates had a Star Model, and I thought at the time, 'One of these days I'm going to own one myself'.
"I guess you could say it's always been an ambition of mine."
It took years and years, but in 2004, the stars aligned above Mr Pearce's hospital bed.
"I was in hospital recovering from an operation reading a car magazine, when I came across the old girl.
"Funny thing was, I'd since moved on, but she was in Perth."
Four days later, and she was his.
"It's a very special car to me. I'll never sell it," Mr Pearce said.
Also dear to the rev-head's heart is his collection of motorbikes.
"I'm a bit passionate about my vehicles," he said.
"I've got a 1981 CBX 6-cylinder Honda 1000 that I bought off an old bloke from Tassy.
"He made me promise I'd never ever sell it, and I never ever will.
"I also have a fully restored 1948 Vincent. It's done six miles since it was fully rebuilt and restored," he said.
"It doesn't get any better than a Vincent. For me, buying that motorcycle was a dream."
Mr Pearce has even take his love of all things mechanical overseas, when he rode one of his bikes on the famously dangerous Isle of Man Tourist Trophy track in May 2011.
"It was beyond awesome," he said.
"If you're into motorbikes, than you need to get over there and do it at least once.
"It was well worth it."
