Sale to celebrate birthday

A GOODNA op shop is offering 20 per cent off for Satellite readers to celebrate their first birthday - all you need to do is show them this newspaper clipping.

The Asthma Foundation op shop opened their doors at St Ives shopping centre 12 months ago and already feel like a well-worn part of the community.

With an abundance of volunteers and customers, store manager, Marie Gibbs, said she thought the success came from the fact the shop was “nice, clean and tidy”.

“We've had a steady stream of regular and new faces during the year,” she said.

“But there are some people who are just discovering us now.”

Ms Gibbs (pictured) previously worked at the Asthma Foundation's Annerley store, but said the Goodna one had been a lot busier.

“Women in the area appreciate that the clothes are clearly sorted into sizes,” she said.

As the name suggests, profits made from the store go to the Asthma Foundation, which funds research into the condition.

The Asthma Foundation Goodna op shop is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm and on Saturday from 8.30am to 3.30pm.
