RAIN held off for the day to allow more than 900 people to attend the outdoor University of Southern Queensland Springfield Open Day on Sunday, August 22.

USQ Springfield director, Doug Fraser, said prospective USQ students were greeted with sunshine and smiles when they embraced the opportunity to look around the campus and speak to the lecturers and support staff who would guide them through their studies at the campus.

“Open Day is all about getting good information to help students make an informed choice about their futures,” he said.

“Prospective students and their families took tours through the campus and saw firsthand the genuine rapport our teaching and support staff have with students.

“They heard from current students about the excellent support they receive from lecturers and the kind of individual attention USQ prides itself on giving to all of our students.”

Mr Fraser said students also had the opportunity to watch hands-on Faculty of Arts demonstrations, including Phoenix Radio in operation and the television studio.

“The Open Day was also a great opportunity for students to hear about our latest course offerings at Springfield,” he said.
