Kids: are you ready for fun?

GOOD news kids!

GOOD news kids! Rocks Riverside Park is getting a brand new playground.

Jamboree Councillor Matthew Bourke said there wasn't much diversity in the way of play equipment currently at the park, aside from the waterplay facility and swings.

“One thing to come out of our recent consultation on what people would like to see at the park, was a brand new playground,” he said.

“It will be a typical adventure fort style piece of equipment.”

Cr Bourke said there would also be new shelters and barbecues installed down near the river.

“There will be a formal pathway and entrance where we will plant seedlings from the fig tree that was taken out near the 7/11 store and the one at Myrna St,” he said.

The projects will be completed during the next eight months at a total cost of $451,000 this financial year.

Local resident Tamara Foong said she brought her children down to the park regularly, and was pleased there would be more equipment for them.

“I'm looking forward to the improvements,” she said.

“We come here for work functions as well, and everyone has a great time.”
