Crowded House will visit five states in one month when their Intriguer tour hits Australia later this year.

The band promises two hours of "hit fuelled" entertainment, including hits from their back catalogue like Four Seasons in One Day, Weather With You and Don't Dream it's Over.

In recent months, founding members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour, drummer Matt Sherrod and instrumentalist Mark Hart have been touring UK, Europe and the US with Intriguer.

It became the band's fifth number one album after making its debut at the top of the ARIA charts in June.

Crowded House formed 25 years ago but disbanded in the mid-1990s.

After an 11-year hiatus they reformed in 2007 to release the platinum-selling album Time on Earth.

Tickets for the Intriguer tour are available on August 10, with pre-sales beginning on Friday, August 6.

Crowded House's Intriguer tour dates:

* Melbourne, Rod Laver Arena - Friday, November 5

* Sydney, Hordern Pavilion - Saturday, November 6

* Brisbane, Convention Centre - Tuesday, November 9

* Swan Valley, WA, Sandalford Estate - Sunday, November 14

* Wollongong, Entertainment Centre - Tuesday, November 16

* Barossa Valley, SA, Peter Lehmann Wines - Saturday, November 13
