Local talent to shine in band battle

THE X-Factor may be on television screens soon, but before then, local talent will be on display at a battle of the bands in Springfield.

Being held this Sunday, August 1, the battle will be played out by local bands including Nexus, Geek Squad (pictured) and Elevation.

The night will also feature a guest performance by Dance Troup, Skittles.

This is the fourth year the battle of the bands has been held and members of last year's winning band, Remember 7, will be present on the night to hand over the trophy to this year's winner.

Hosted by Springfield Christian Family and Kiro Ministry, the event will include a free sausage sizzle, an inspirational speaker and testimonies from local youth about living life to the max without sex, drugs and alcohol.

The battle will kick off at USQ Springfield Auditorium, Sinnathamby Boulevard, Springfield from 4.50pm.
