QUEENSLAND Lions coach, Walter Oldenburg has lamented his side’s lack of commitment after the Richlands-based Lions let in four goals in their Brisbane Premier Division 1 fixture against Toowoomba on Saturday.
The physical contest at Clive Berghofer Stadium saw the Raiders completely outplay their rivals to record a comfortable victory.
The 4-0 defeat left Oldenburg critical of his team’s performance.
“They totally outclassed us,” he said.
“They showed us how to play possession football.
“We made some poor defensive mistakes and we got punished for it.
“I think there was a lack of commitment, we didn’t make any challengers for their goals.”
The result wasn’t the only bad news for the Lions, with several players suffering injuries during the match who will be racing the clock to be fit in time for this Sunday’s clash against Western Spirit.
The Lions will be missing reliable defender, Devon Munn, after he received a red card for dangerous play in Saturday’s loss to the Raiders.
