Funny man on the folk scene visits Brisbane

BEFORE Vin Garbutt, England’s north-east was known mainly for its shipyards and steel - it’s now known as the homeplace of the funniest serious man on the folk scene.

Garbutt, a professional musician who’s celebrating his 40th year on the road, is a living treasure whose songs and patter make you think deeply - and make you laugh until your face hurts and you slide off your chair, even when he’s telling stories about his life-saving surgery.

He is someone you immediately love – he has talent to spare, a profound sense of justice and compassion, and the wit and skill to make every word count.

As part of Garbutt’s Australian 2010 tour (he’ll be giving two concerts in Queensland – in Brisbane and Montville.)

Also on the bill will be Cloudstreet – originally an Australian duo, now truly global citizens of the entertainment world.
