TONI Fox is a new teacher the students might really like.

As one of the State Government’s new specialist science teachers, she says she will bring hands-on learning to primary school classrooms in Forest Lake, Inala, Durack and Richlands.

“High school students have the labs, so we have to be a bit more creative in primary schools,” she said.

State Member for Algester, Karen Struthers, said she hoped Ms Fox’s presence would encourage more girls to get into the science field when they left school.

“We haven’t produced enough people in the science fields,” she said.
