INALA resident Thea Gerrits is devastated after her toy poodle went missing a week ago.

Adding to her distress, is her belief someone took her beloved pet, Bella.

On Monday, February 22, Ms Gerrits took Bella into the yard before going to bed, and she played up and down the fence with the neighbour’s dog.

When the neighbour’s dog went inside, Ms Gerrits called out to Bella to come inside, but she had vanished.

Only when the neighbour’s dog started to growl did Ms Gerrits think something wasn’t right, and someone had taken her.

“I sat on a seat out the back the whole time she was in the back garden,” she said.

“She often plays with the dog next door, and they run up and down the fence.”

Ms Gerrit said Bella was microchipped and had a pink collar with a tag that had her contact details on it.

“She’s just gone, I went driving at 1am to try and find her and nothing,” she said.

“What really upsets me is to think someone could just take off her collar with my phone number on it and throw it away.

“Someone has her.”

Ms Gerrit said she had put flyers up around Inala and at the local shops, but a lot of them had been taken down.

“She’s our family pet, and to think someone has just taken her, well it’s not right,” she said.
