Lyn Colburn, Kelly Ryan and Henry Dianing with Attorney General Cameron Dick and Richlands councillor Milton Dick.
FOLLOWING an 18-month long community campaign to get a bus stop put outside the Western Districts Courthouse, news has arrived that it will finally happen.
Richlands Councillor Milton Dick and Attorney General Cameron Dick made the announcement outside the court with elated community members.
“There was a petition and campaign for about 18 months,” Cr Dick said.
“A lot of people have to get public transport here.
“The area is growing, and we need the public transport for visitors to the court and offenders.”
Mr Dick said he was aware the community had been advocating for the bus stop for some time.
“It’s generated a lot of local support,” he said.
“It’s great to see Translink working with Brisbane City Council to deliver this significant infrastructure.
“It will bring people to the court quickly and easily.”
