Second-half slide results in Lions loss

QUEENSLAND Lions have paid the price for a small patch of poor football during the second-half of their Premier Division 1 encounter against Rocklea United on Sunday.

Ben Schofield put the Lions a goal ahead just before half-time, but after the break the hosts scored three consecutive goals in the space of 15 minutes to run out 3-2 winners at Croatian Sports Centre.

Lions coach, Walter Oldenburg lamented his side’s lack of composure in the second-half.

“I would say (that) 15-20 minutes cost us badly,” he said.

“We lost our way in the second-half.

“If we kept our shape I think we would have been fine.”
