Australian cricketer Mike Hussey.
MIKE Hussey says Australia's fast bowlers have the chance to haul the side back in the second Test against Pakistan on day two at the SCG.
The home side was humbled on a rain-affected opening day, bundled out for 127 before the tourists progressed to 0-14 when play ended early due to bad light.
Imran Farhat (9no) and Salman Butt (3no) were unbeaten and Hussey said Australia's quicks had an opportunity to exploit the green pitch on Monday.
"I still think there's going to be lots of movement there tomorrow," Hussey said.
"There's quite a lot of life and green grass in that pitch.
"(There's) still going to be moisture in that pitch overnight and tomorrow." Big-hitter Mitchell Johnson (38) and No.9 Nathan Hauritz (21) combined to put on 42 to save Australia from deeper embarrassment after coming together with the score at 7-62.
Pakistan swing bowler Mohammad Asif (6-41) brilliantly exploited the pitch and overhead conditions to collect career-best figures on Sunday.
He expected the conditions to remain favourable to fast bowlers in coming days.
"Conditions were very helpful for bowlers," Asif said with a smile after play on day one.
