Palmer 'humbled' by award
MINING magnate Clive Palmer says he is humbled after being named Australia's mining entrepreneur of the decade.
The award from business and political magazine Government Australia was announced at a function at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne on Wednesday night.
Fellow mining industry figure Don Argus was named chairman of the decade and Gina Rinehart recognised for turning a struggling company into a "powerhouse".
Government Australia chief Peter Charlton said the award also paid tribute to Mr Palmer for being a "strong voice" for the Australian energy and resources sector.
Mineralogy chairman Mr Palmer the award was "a tribute to the thousands of people who work for me at our resource projects".
"We have been able to succeed in this industry as a result of their efforts."
