HE MAY have retired, but the legend of Darren Lockyer will live on in a new Bundaberg Rum set to be released this weekend.

In a rare location change, the Darren Lockyer Number 6 rum will be released away from the Bundaberg distillery, and will be in Brisbane instead.

The first 200 bottles sold on the day will be personally signed by Darren Lockyer.

All bottles are individually numbered from 4-999 and there is a limit of one bottle per adult customer.

Bottle numbers 1000 and above have a limit of 12 bottles per adult customer.

The six-year-old rum has been crafted by the Bundaberg Distillers to signify Lockyer's service to the number 6 jersey and is designed to taste rich and smooth.

For Bundy rum and league lovers who don't mind travelling, the event will be held at the Brisbane BWS store at the corner of the Nudgee Beach Approach and Nudgee Rd on Saturday from 11am-3pm.

There will be food available, live music, Brisbane Broncos cheerleaders, the chance to experience the Bundaberg Distillatorium and, of course, Darren Lockyer.

This release will also be available from the Bond Store and BWS stores throughout Queensland from May 21, and Queensland independents from May 24.
