Free Wi-Fi network reaches south-west
SOUTH-west residents are making some great connections in Rocks Riverside Park with the introduction of free Wi-Fi to the area.
The park was announced last week as one of 20 new sites across Brisbane that now has free wireless internet access.
Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said the initiative was designed to make Brisbane a more connected and accessible city.
"This service is part of the new world city focus that we have," he said.
"Users will be able to surf the web or check emails while enjoying some of Brisbane's best green spaces."
Residents can locate the free Wi-Fi using signs in each area, which mark the 100 metre radius in which the service works.
Users will be given the option to connect to the free service via a window popping up on their mobile device.
The Lake Parklands at Forest Lake was also named in the list of new sites that will now have free Wi-Fi access.
