Cupcake Day is the sweetest

FOR the RSPCA, Cupcake Day is the sweetest day of the year.

The annual event encourages people across the country to host Cupcake Day parties on August 20, to raise funds for the organisation.

Money generated by the fundraiser go towards helping the RSPCA's shelters, clinics and animals.

To kick start the charity event, RSPCA Queensland will hold an 'Open House' day at its Animal Care Campus on Sunday, August 19.

The facility, located in Wacol, will allow visitors to take a special behind the scenes look at its animal hospital.

The free event will run from 9am to 12noon and feature children's rides, entertainment and numerous food, drink and RSPCA information stalls.

Car racing champion and RSPCA ambassador Craig Lowndes will also be on site as well as Brisbane band Cheap Fakes who will perform live.

And, of course, there will be lots of cupcakes for sale.

RSPCA Queensland's Animal Care Campus is located on the cnr of Wacol Station Rd and Grindle Rd, Wacol.
